That demonstration proves very little. A UPS is not simply a metal enclosure with batteries. It is a power conversion system containing batteries, capacitors, fans, control boards, firmware, communications interfaces, and switching components. A used unit can function normally in a showroom and still fail during the first meaningful outage.
